FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of Grants Manager for an anticipated five-year USAID project, Strengthen Resilience and Learning to Counter Violent Extremism in the Northern Border Areas of Côte d’Ivoire, with a budget between $25-$49 million.

Job Summary :

The Grants Manager will oversee an extensive portfolio of cash and in-kind grants to local organizations and ensure compliant selection, award, management, and close out of all sub-grants.

It is expected that the Grants Manager will be located in Abidjan with anticipated project-funded travel to the northern border areas.

Essential Job Functions : Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for managing the sub-grants that will be awarded under the activity;
  • Work with FHI 360 Grants Specialist in HQ to finalize the project’s Grants Manual;
  • Train all Program and Grants staff on grants manual and grants management system;
  • Work with program staff to establish and effectively maintain a compliant grants management system;
  • Coordinate close with a team of program and grants officers to support local organizations in finalizing project proposals and budgets, and to monitor and report on grantee activities;
  • Facilitate grant selection process;
  • Maintain an online grants tracking system, and ensure compliant monitoring and reporting on grant activities;
  • Provide technical assistance and training to program staff and grant recipients;
  • Ensure that all sub-grant documents are filed and kept updated;
  • Ensure the effective close out of all sub-grants; and
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent from an accredited university in a relevant field such as international development, business administration, law or other related field;
  • Advanced degree preferred;
  • A minimum of 5-8 years' work experience, including at least 5 years of grants management experience;
  • Experience effectively supervising other staff members;
  • Familiarity with USAID programming, rules and regulations highly desired;
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team;
  • Fluency in speaking, reading and writing in English and French required;
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating, decision making, and problem-solving skills;
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills; and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Availability of position is contingent upon award to FHI 360. Selection of final applicant is subject to USAID approval.
