PEG delivers Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) asset-based financing to consumers who lack both access to reliable electricity and formal banking services.
PEG’s anchor product - a basic solar home system that includes six lights, a phone charger, a radio, and a TV - allows consumers living on $5-10 per day to access clean light for working and studying after hours, avoid harmful air pollution from kerosene based lighting solutions, and also build credit for additional products and services over time.
To date, PEG has raised over $50 million and has over 450 full time staff across Ghana, Ivory Coast and Senegal. PEG has also won numerous awards, including the prestigious 2017 Ashden International Award for excellence in sustainable energy, and was named as one of the fastest growing companies in Africa by the London Stock Exchange.
The Position :
As the PEG Africa Finance Projects Consultant, you will lead and assume responsibility for performing all tasks before, during, and after implementation of Odoo open-source Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) financial modules.
You will work in close collaboration with multiple countries’ finance teams, the ERP Project Manager, and a finance subject matter expert (SME) to organize and control tasks within the work plan and ensure smooth and controlled system and data transition.
You must demonstrate the ability to work with different departments and stakeholders in a fast moving and multicultural environment across PEG’s different markets.
Responsibilities Includes :
Key financial resource for implementing Odoo ERP Finance modules (Accounting, Inventory, Purchase, Sales, Payroll) and systems within PEG Ghana and Ivory Coast
Work with Odoo partners implementers, PEG finance team, and management on designing, preparing, facilitating and implementing changes and processes required throughout the ERP implementation
Provide initial and in-depth support for data cleaning, preparation, configuration, and migration from existing systems (Xero, Sage) to Odoo
Assist finance team with financial data integrity prior migration using best practices and ensuring compliance with internal business processes and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Testing and validation of all financial processes designed as well as ensuring internal controls are taken into account
Supervise and ensure test environment is created, system functionality are tested and confirmed while day-to-day operations are maintained in the old system
Define a training needs assessment and implement a training program for finance team
Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), data migration, and go live
The successful candidate must have :
Qualifications and Requirements :
Bachelor or Master Degree in Finance or equivalent work experience in finance consulting / ERP and system implementation
5+ years of experience in finance management with relevant work experience in Startup environment, telecom, etc.
Experience with projects focused on finance process improvement or optimization on month end close activities, financial consolidations, sub-ledger reconciliations, analytical accounting, reporting, planning and forecasting, etc.
Prior experience working with ERP software or ERP financial project implementation is required (Odoo preferrably)
Fluency in French and English
Experience in assisting companies to implement Best Practice Processes
Strong communication skills, team player, project management skills, while being able to work independently
Ability to establish priorities as well as communicate effectively with other project team members
Demonstrate the ability to communicate with all levels of an organization with professionalism
Regular travel across Ghana and Ivory Coast
Location : Candidate to live in Abidjan
