What will you do?

  • You (co-)create and translate the country’s Sales Strategy and Plan into a clear and concise plan for you and your team to act upon;
  • You manage, orchestrate and grow an existing team of local sales professional based in 5 different countries in West Africa
  • You ensure a growing client base with long term solid partnerships, focusing on understanding and influencing current and future customer needs;
  • You are able to identify opportunities / targets and convert potential clients to becoming loyal customers, building a sales opportunity pipeline together with your team;
  • You are responsible to (help) generate and share market insights, analyze competitors actively and (help) translate these findings to future customer needs and activities, therewith influencing the improvement of our groups’ services portfolio;
  • You, as a people focused manager, are driving engagement within the sales force to deliver on results, interacting closely with others, to become the best service provider for our customers.
  • Your expertise in sales will help to support your team in improving their sales skills and drive business opportunities further.

  • You will also make sure they are being provided with the training and development needed to perform;
  • You will ensure impeccable relations with Operations teams to ensure it is a combined effort to serve our customers to the best of our abilities;
  • Your focus on accurate, timely forecasting and reporting makes it easy for your team to keep you up to date and provides clear insights to higher management.
  • What do we expect from you?

  • You have a proven track record in the field of freight forwarding and / or shipping and / or logistics in beverage and bulk industry;
  • You can show that you are able to identify and qualify opportunities and prioritize sales efforts to closing deals quickly;
  • You have a nose for optimizing profitability, by cross selling or upselling, by discovering new market opportunities and are not afraid of creating them yourself;
  • You understand the market and you bring a solid network with suppliers, industry partners and maybe even customers
  • You like to interact with different people and are good in creating and maintaining (customer) relationships;
  • You have a strong hunting mentality and are result-focused;
  • You are comfortable in working with CRM systems
  • You are flexible to travel 50% of your time
  • You speak French and English with Arabic as an advantage
