Job Purpose :
Oversight, strategy setting and drive for the Democratic Republic of Congo ( DRC ) FI portfolio. Portfolio assignment may also include other NPC & FI Countries.
The role will also provide back up for a wider portfolio in West & Central Africa.
Job Background / context :
FI business in DRC focuses on Banks. It is product agnostic and is primarily driven on the basis of transactional banking products (including Cash, Trade & Security Services) and FX.
The NPC / FI RM, will report into the NPC / FI Head, WCA.
Key Responsibilities :
P&L / Business management responsibility for the NPC / FI business within DRC and other NPCs & FI as may be assigned.
Act as a Trusted Advisor to Unit Head, NPC / FI, WCA on business trends & opportunities available within DRC & WCA region & as and when required deputise in the absence of Unit Head, NPC / FI, WCA.
Managing a senior client base including the CEOs & International Division Heads of Banks;
Working with key product partners in TTS, Markets, Corporate Finance & others as needed to drive the various product agendas across this client base.
Portfolio Risk Management (both credit & country risks) as the first line of defense for the combined business including :
Sponsoring Credit officer for the portfolio from Business
Active & Lead contribution to Country Risk Reviews (where XB risks are discussed, and limits & watch list status of countries re-validated)
Periodic engagement on Portfolio Management Plan for CWA region, and
Managing credit risk from the portfolio & clients as appropriate / required
Compliance / AML responsibility for the portfolio ensuring pristine compliance standards are adhered to across this high risk portfolio from AML perspective.
Working closely with the CB Head and CCO in DRC.
Support in the coordination & providing input into NPC Governance forums
Provide back-up to Relationships managed under the WCA region
Develop & sustain customer satisfaction and loyalty at high levels
Ensure adequate return on assets meet hurdle rates on capital
Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and corporate policies in respective countries of coverage
Knowledge / Experience / Qualifications :
Bachelor or Masters (preferred) Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Maths (other areas of specialization would be considered on a case by case basis).
Fully bilingual French / English is a must.
Prior work experience in Citi in the areas described above (Business, Risk, Banking, TTS) a strong plus. Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience
